We have an energetic group of several faculty members, research associates, and students in both theoretical and experimental High Energy Physics (HEP).
In experimental HEP, students are actively involved in various aspects of the design, construction, and installation of detectors. These students also work in close collaboration with colleagues from other universities within Canada, as well as many institutes from other countries. For more information on our group and high energy physics in Canada please contact us. Students with an interest in experimental physics are strongly encouraged to become a team member and participate in this very exciting field of physics.
In theoretical HEP, students participate in a wide variety of research in the Standard Model of particle physics, beyond the standard model physics, early universe cosmology, and string theory. With the recent discovery of a particle consistent with the Higgs Boson, tantalizing hints about the nature of dark matter, and a wealth of new cosmological datasets this is an exciting time to get involved. Students interested in theory are strongly encouraged to apply for positions in our group.
